Ways to Support Small Businesses During COVID-19

Hey friends! I just wanted to take a moment to check in with everyone right now amid all this craziness and share some of my favorite ways I’ve been able to support small businesses + share some of my favorites. As a small business owner and a friend to many small business owners, I’ve really been able to see the impact this pandemic has made on local economies. With all the anxiety and boredom COVID-19 has brought, I wanted to share some of my favorite ways to combat that + support of fave small and local places!

Send a gift card to an essential worker or friend having a hard time

One of my favorite things to do when I’m feeling down or pessimistic is to brighten the day of someone else! Sending a note + a gift card from a local business is such an easy way to put a smile on someone’s face and a small gesture that goes a long way. Call your favorite shops and restaurants or check online to see if they are offering gift cards and send one over to a friend who is quarantined all alone in their house or an essential worker to let them know you appreciate them!

Check which of our favorite business are now offering online services

If you’re into yoga or Pilates, check out a local studio offering zoom classes! Need a doctor’s appointment, find a doctor or therapist offering telemedicine. Love a clothing boutique, see if they’re offering virtual styling appointments!  Now is a perfect time to experiment with new things while still taking care of yourself.

Leave a google review for your favorite businesses

Since starting my own business, I have discovered the power of Google reviews. I’d always read them while looking for places to eat or shop but never really considered writing one. However, they really do help so much in boosting business for some of our favorite local places. So, channel all the quarantine boredom into thinking back on your favorite places and drop them a sweet review.

Engage with your favorite businesses on social media

Utilizing social media has become so important for so many businesses right now as they move their businesses online. Chances are you will be scrolling through Instagram a lot anyways the next few weeks so don’t forget to follow your favorite places and like, comment, and share their posts!

 Treat yo’self

Last but certainly not least, don’t forget to spoil yourself a little bit! Order dinner from your favorite restaurant and follow it up with your favorite dessert from the bakery down the road. Order some new cozy clothes from your favorite local store. Buy some art from a local artist and use it to redecorate a room in your house!

Finally, as promised, here are some of my current favorite girl bosses/business owners/friends, really just the ladies keeping me inspired (+ tempted to buy things) during this craziness! Hope you enjoy!
